5 Secrets Plastic Surgeons Tell Their Friends

Every profession has its little secrets and we no matter how well informed and educated we are, there are certain things that keep evading us. For example, there are hair secrets and tricks you get to know only if you are a hairdresser or you have a close friend who is one. The same rule applies for any profession, plastic surgery included. There are things a surgeon will only share with its colleges and closest friends and which could influence your lifestyle and plastic surgery decisions. In addition, we are willing to share with you some the secrets, but be quiet and don’t let the cat out of the bag (wink, wink).

Sleep on your back

Perhaps you haven’t considered the possibility of changing your sleeping position before, but if you just think logically for a moment you will realize that sleeping on your back is the best possible solution. Just imagine your facial skin stuck to the pillow the whole night – gravity is slow but strong force which influences our lives constantly (even when we sleep). If you sleep on your back it will actually tighten your face rather than pushing and crumpling it in the pillow, creating new wrinkles and making your skin look tired even when you feel rested.

Don’t over-do things

There are many situations in which plastic surgery is more than recommendable, but sometimes it is better just to leave the things the way they are. If Mother Nature made your nose 1mm to the left or your eyebrows are not totally symmetrical – that’s fine, just let things be. Take Barbra Streisand for example –she had all the reasons and opportunities to fix her nose but she didn’t do it, thus creating a recognizable image of herself in public.

Think of the proportions

Breast size correction is an interesting subject to talk about. Ladies want bigger breasts to fill the empty space in their bras or to make their husbands and themselves happier. However, they just pick the boobs from their favourite magazines without considering their own body shape and size. Many women just don’t need large breasts in order to look good. Either they are too tall and their spine is under greater pressure or their back muscles are not strong enough to carry the weight. The point is – don’t choose size over C without consultation because you’ll get nothing but trouble.

Feel safe

It is very important to select a reliable clinic with good equipment and hospital supplies, not to mention that all need to be clean and sterilized. You also have to trust your surgeons and to ensure that they are experienced and qualified for plastic surgery. Ask them to show you their certificates and pictures of their work. When it comes to your health, you shouldn’t compromise –spend a little more in order to feel safe.

Quit smoking

Cigarettes are one of the main reasons your skin is getting older. Do yourself a favour and stop smoking. Not only you will look much younger but your scars will be healing faster too. Nicotine kills vitamin B, essential for the health of your skin. Whenever you want to smoke you can take a walk or sunbathe a bit, it will calm you down.

Knowing other people’s secrets is not always a good thing, but it’s good to be informed when it comes to your health. Talk openly with your friends, family and your surgeon before you make a decision.
